Licey

So, thank you all for your patience! Today I am actually going to say something about Licey!

So, Licey is a fun little town. Imagine a highway town in the states, and you have a pretty good idea of what Licey is like. A bunch of banks, a bunch of gas stations, and not a whole lot more. Everything is really spread out, which makes mission work on foot a little bit interesting. There are times where we are walking for more than 30 minutes, or even an hour, just to get from one appointment to the next. We try to avoid it, but sometimes there is just no other way.

To explain a little bit more about Licey, there really aren't addresses. If someone lives close to the main road they tell you which mile marker they live by.

There are a lot of goats, cows, pigs, chickens, and dogs. There are actually a good number of large chicken farms here.

The biggest tree in the northern DR is in our area. We went to see it today, but I can't upload pictures right now. I've seen some pretty big trees in my life, but this one is definitely impressive!

The ward here is pretty strong, and we have a great ward mission leader! It was his birthday yesterday actually! His sister-in-law is progressing really well, and will probably be getting baptized soon. We are very excited for her. She has made some huge changes in her life, but I can tell that she likes the difference that it has made. She even invites her friends to talk with us and go to church and activities!

Anyway, I love you all! Sorry about the late emails. We had a zone conference yesterday, and so our preparation day was changed to Thursday.
